The Party's Over... For Now This is difficult to write, and the decision not to continue "the Salingers" at this time is also a difficult one. We struggled with the decision over the summer as we looked for new writers and hoped our schedules would open up enough to dedicate time to the show. For awhile, we considered continuing but putting out fewer episodes -- or shorter ones -- in order to beat the time conflict. But to me, that would be going backwards. Finally, we decided it would be better to leave on the high note of the season Eight finale ("Past and Present, Parts 1 & 2") rather than put out a lesser effort in a Ninth season. We are going to leave the door open to the possiblility of picking up again at some point. If you're on our "episode reminder" list, you will be sent an email if and when we re-start the show. If you're not on our reminder list, send us a quick email titled "Remind me" and we'll be sure to notify you if we continue. That said, we still want to hear from anyone interested in writing with us. I believe we can continue the show if we add two more competent writers to the staff who have good ideas for the characters and the show's development. We hope you will continue to email us about the show, your thoughts, new ideas, etc. I feel we've made some wonderful friends over the last two years, and there's no reason we can't stay in touch. We hope you'll take the time to read through past episodes and continue to give us your feedback. Reader input was always critical to what we did. Now, I've got a confession. I honestly though when we started this website two years ago that we'd write a few episodes, see that no one was paying attention, and call it off. Our "founder" loves to remind me about this, and I soon adopted the nickname "Mr. Pessimist." But here we are 50 episodes and almost 20,000 hits later lamenting the end of the show. I couldn't have been more wrong... and I can't tell you how glad I am that I was. We will continue to update the site as we get episode reviews and feedback from readers, so please do stay in touch!
